Prone

DJ Prone stepped onto the scene back in 1983 primarily as a first generation UK B-Boy, Scratch DJ, Beat Digger, Hip Hop producer and graffiti artist. The first sets started down at the school youth club where he would spin on the wheels and on his back with his old B-Boy crew ‘Circuit Rock’.

In 1986 he made his first public appearance at a Hip Hop Alliance Jam alongside ‘The Sindecut’ with DJ Fingers, Crazy Noddy, Daddy Speedo and 2000AD cutting breaks.

In 1989 Prone hosted the Hip Hop show on Woking’s ill-fated ‘Infinity FM’ which was where he discovered his love and passion for broadcasting, on stations such London’s Global Funk Radio, also Shoreditch based ‘Bounce FM’, and is now hosting the superb Vinyl Destination Show on GDR playing Jazz, Fusion, Funk and Hip-Hop as well as performing on percussion with, bands in particular Funkshone, and collaborating in the studios alongside the likes of Fred Wesley and up and coming artists.
